Episode Description

The desire for stories is engrained in us. We love hearing them and we love telling them. There are stories that have twists and turns, drama and comedy. And there are stories that have greatly influenced different generations. But there has been only one story to shape the course of history God's story.

Fake ID: Reclaiming Your Identity In Christ - "Photo ID"

Photo ID Paul passionately tells the church in Ephesus that they are loved by God. Our identity in Christ means that we can be free from the pressure of what others think. We tend to put our identity in how we look, specifically in how others see us but when we understand who we in Christ, and how God sees us, then others loose the power to label us.

Fake ID: Reclaiming Your Identity In Christ - "Work ID"

Work ID What we do is not who we are. Our identities are received, not achieved. Work ID When we are asked to identity ourselves right after giving our name we usually begin to tell people what we do. We try to find our identity in what we have achieved and accomplished. We point to the trophies, the degrees, the promotions. In Ephesians Paul reminds the church that our identity is not achieved it is received. We are not saved by works so that no one can boast, it is a gift of God. Our identity is not something we earn from good works, its something we are given when we put our trust in Jesus.

In Ephesians Paul reminds the Christians that what unites them in Christ is much greater that what separate them.
